He was born in Ishpeming, Mich., the son of Alvin Merton Guscatt and Kathryn Frances Garrett Guscatt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Henry Guscatt Jr., and brother, Timothy Phillip Guscatt.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eva Charlene Burch Guscatt; daughters, Savonna Sue Lessley (Christopher Puder), Kathryn Michelle Guscatt, and Amanda Nicole Clark (Shawn); six grandchildren, David Scott Smith, Harlie Michelle Grimm (Hollis), Emily Grace Clark, Abbigail Faith Clark, Evianna McKinleigh Guscatt and Ashley Marie Puder; and three greatgrandchildren.

The funeral was conducted Saturday, Jan. 17, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel. Burial followed at Green Hill Cemetery.
