Frances Patterson Wagner, 89, of Buena Vista, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026. 

Born Jan. 13, 1936, in Buena Vista, she was the daughter of the late Thelma S. Patterson and William “Curtis” Patterson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Wagner Jr., and her daughters, Edie Humphries and Carol Fauber. 

She is survived by her loving grandchildren, John Humphries, Michael Fauber, Ann Humphries and Mitchel Fauber; her sons-in-law, Ronnie Humphries and Danny Fauber; her brother, Bill Patterson (Debbie), and his sons, Daniel Patterson (Linell) and Adam Patterson; her cherished great-granddaughter, Iris Humphries; her nephew, Mark Wagner; nieces, Lea Schreiber McQuinn and Terri Schreiber; and her special cousins, Mary Ellen Plogger and Elaine Shafer. 

Frances attended Parry McCluerHigh School and Southern Seminary. She was a devoted member of Buena Vista Presbyterian Church, where she served faithfully as church secretary for 20 years, shared her musical talents in the choir for more than 75 years, and held numerous roles on church sessions and committees. 

Services will be held at Buena Vista Presbyterian Church on Friday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Bronwen Boswell, with a reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Buena Vista Presbyterian Church.
