AMANDA REYNOLDS

AMANDA REYNOLDS

AMANDA REYNOLDS

Amanda Lynn Reynolds, P.G., 4X, consummate cat lady and world's okayest geologist, passed from this life and into the arms of her God on Dec. 26, 2025.

A 2006 graduate of the University of Tennessee, she built a career as a geologist working in several industries and becoming a professional licensed geologist in Virginia in 2022.

Her most important work, however, was in the field of felines. Truly believing God called her to be a cat lady, she engaged on a mission to hug every cat. She fell short of her goal, but lord knows she tried.

She is survived by her parents, Lee and Bonny Reynolds, of Glasgow. They are the most loving and devoted parents anyone could have asked for. Everything she became was rooted in their unrelenting care, love and guidance.

She leaves behind her devoted partner of 21 years, Otis S. Mabe of Natural Bridge Station. He is and will always be a masterclass in love, loyalty and being a true southern gentleman. His love and devotion served as a beacon, always guiding her safely home.

She also leaves behind two very special friends, Jennifer "JT" Tolley of Richmond, a true soulmate in friendship who understood her more than anyone, and Thomas Rigg, of Louisa, a lifelong friend, almost a brother, with whom she shares some of her most cherished memories (and maybe a few shenanigans).

Also left behind are many friends, in person and online, that offered so much love and support during Amanda’s life, especially Cathe Long, a longtime friend across time and distance. She also bids farewell to a cadre of wonderful colleagues, especially Carrie Blankenship, Cyndi Garrett and Lisa Kitchens.

One of the greatest privileges in Amanda's life was being a catmom to the most special felines. Henry has preceded her in death, but she leaves behind her sweet girls, Tabitha and Charlotte, who gave her years of laughter, love and comfort.

A celebration of life will be held in weeks to come. Please bring your favorite memories of Amanda.

In lieu of flowers, Amanda asks you to please donate to and volunteer with your local animal rescues or give to your local LGBTQIA+ initiatives.

In lieu of grief, she asks you to move forward in love, build community and mutual aid, and love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 25: 34-45

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
