ROGER BROWN

ROGER BROWN

Roger Dale Brown of Buena Vista passed away suddenly on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025.

ROGERBROWN

Roger was born in Rockbridge County on the summer solstice of 1960 to Frances Williams Brown and the late William “Buddy” Brown.

In addition to his father, Roger was preceded in death by his second wife, Wanda Gail Foster, with whom he had reconciled before her own passing in 2016.

As a child of the 1960s and 1970s, Roger was an avid music fan. He was also a die-hard NASCAR fan in the eighties and nineties. As Dale Earnhardt was one of his heroes, he had a #3 tattoo on his arm, which he got the chance to proudly show Earnhardt at an event in North Carolina in 1996.

Roger was a hard-working painter most of his life. Working as an independent contractor for most of his early life, he worked the last two decades for Holland’s Construction.

Roger loved his children more than anything and would go against the world without any hesitation to support them and protect them. He was immensely proud of his son’s musical talent and his daughter’s writing. He cared deeply for his family and enjoyed spending time with friends listening to music and picking at his guitar.

Surviving are his mother, Frances Brown; son Zachary Brown; daughter Karyn Gardner and son-in-law Joshua Gardner; half-sisters Beth Brown and Tammy West; and many close friends and extended family.

As he would not have wanted it, there will be no funeral. Roger’s burial will be private at a later date at which time his ashes will be interred with those of his children’s mother, Wanda Foster.

In lieu of flowers being sent to the family, please consider donating to a charity of your choice in memory of Roger.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services. NG
