Sherry Magelitz Smith, 79, of Lexington, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025.

Born Nov. 26, 1946, she was a daughter of Hilda Hindle Magelitz and the late Henry H. Magelitz.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael and Christopher Magelitz.

Sherry was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and retired from the Department of Interior in program management.

Surviving are her husband, Robert E. Smith; children, Michael Smith and wife Susan, and Patricia Roberts; and grandchildren Xavier and Patrick.

The memorial service will be private.
