Born in Lexington on May 13, 1956, he was a son of Leonard B. Hill and Jereline Coleman Lawrence, who predeceased him.

Surviving Leonard are his loving wife, Sandra Tolley Hill; two daughters, Nancy Ralston (Bill) of Knoxville, Tenn., and Shannon Fisher (Ben) of Natural Bridge Station; grandchildren Eleena, Adisyn and Bryson Ralston, and Zane and Zaden Fisher; sisters, Susan M. Hill (Jennifer), of Lakeland, Fla., and Katie L. Smith (Mark) of Buena Vista; a brother, Jay Lawrence (Crissy) of Buena Vista; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Leonard was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Natural Bridge Station. He was employed by Washington and Lee University, and previously was employed by the Virginia Department of Corrections, but his true passion in life was farming.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, at Harrison Funeral Home. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Faith Baptist Church in Natural Bridge Station.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Faith Baptist Church in his memory.
