MILDREDWARD

She was born April 14, 1931, in Rockbridge County, the daughter of Earl Sylvester Green and Minnie Huffman Green.

Mildred was a lifelong member of Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church. She worked at James Lee Carpets/Burlington Industries for 42 years.

In addition to her parents, Mildred was predeceased by husbands Glen W. Sorrels and William (Billy) Ward; daughter, Sandra Kay Sorrels; sisters, Ruby Conner and Cecil Chittum; and brothers Chester “Buddy” Green, Elmer “Goose” Green and Donald “Donnie” Green.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna S. Walton; her brother, Ollie (Dopie) Green; and several nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to her niece, Pam G. Ragland, for her love, care, support and dedication to Mildred. The family expresses deep appreciation to Blue Ridge Christian Homes for the love and care they gave to Mildred over the past 2 1/2 years.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel by the Rev. W. David Bain. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
