JOYCE ACKER 

Joyce Collins Acker, 88, of Bridgewater passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025. 

Born Feb. 26, 1937, in Bedford County, she was the daughter of Arthur Benjamin Collins and Virginia Lorraine Burks Collins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Leo Harrison and James Acker; daughter, Carolyn J. Beverage; sisters Cora Ella Collins, Nancy Greaver and Dawn Goodwin; and brother Bill Collins.

Surviving are her children, Rick Jenkins, Brenda Thomas (James) and Reesie Staton (Darrell); three step-children; grandchildren, Chassidy S. Morrison, Ashley S. Falls, Jay Thomas and Brian Thomas; numerous step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren Kylie Ramsey, Kaden Ramsey, Cael Falls, Kingston Morrison, Clyde James Thomas; sisters, Hollis Knick, Lillian Bussey and Judy Ridings; and brother, Michael Collins. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Dean Staton. Burial will follow at GreenHill Cemetery.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
