Ricky Trussell was born on Aug. 4, 1953, in Rockbridge County and passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family and friends on Oct. 30, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Oliver Trussell and Evelyn Higgins Trussell; brother Donnie Trussell; and his grandson Justin Beck.

Ricky is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Mamie Trussell; children Sarah Trussell Talbott (Justin), Derrick Trussell, Amanda Trussell, and Brian Goodbar (Carol); grandchildren, Matthew Trussell, Jordan Beck (Zack), Megan Trussell, Austin Talbott, and Brayden Talbott; great-grandchildren Demi Mullens, Cohen Walker, and Levi Beck; brother Stanley Trussell (Rhonda); sister-in-law Adrienne Hostetter; brothers-in-law, Marshall Goodbar (Helen), H.V. Goodbar (Zola); and several nieces and nephews.

Ricky was blessed with a special family including Brooke Hicks, Cassidy Trussell, Mary Lewis, Katie Hall and Kaysen Perry.

A devoted husband, loving father and proud grandfather, Ricky cherished time spent outdoors, enjoyed sports and looked forward to holidays spent with family and friends. He enjoyed simple moments like piddling in the garage, cheering on the Wahoos and the Dallas Cowboys or watching Dale Earnhardt.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Burr Datz. Burial will follow at Collierstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
