DAROLD DAMERON
DAROLD DAMERON

Born Oct. 3, 1952, in Richlands, Darold was a devoted husband, daddy, grandfather, brother and friend whose quiet strength and generous heart touched all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard “Bill” Dameron; his mother, Virginia Dameron; his brother, Keith Dameron; and brothersin laws Bobby Hagerman and Randy Boone.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Young Dameron; his daughters, Lindsay Kave (Matthew) and Ashley Jones (Kevin); and his cherished grandchildren, Alison and Madeline Kave, and Blake and Kara Jones. He also leaves behind his siblings, Shirley Billiter (James), Wanda Dameron, Kathy Hagerman (Bobby), Jerry Dameron (Debbie), Glenda Boone(Randy) and Teresa Arrington (Rick).
Darold’s life was one of hard work, steady faithfulness, and quiet acts of kindness. He spent 12 years with Velsicol in Memphis, Tenn., followed by 20 years as a mechanic at the Natural Bridge Shell Station, and later served as maintenance manager for Rockbridge County until his retirement. No matter the job, Darold gave his best, never complained, and always found a way to get things done.
A true outdoorsman, Darold loved hunting, fishing and golf. H e could fix just about anything with a wrench and a little patience. Known to many as a “master Mr. Fix-It,” he was the first to lend a hand when someone needed help. More than his talents, though, Darold will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and the way he lived with quiet strength and unwavering love for his family.
To know Darold was to know a man who gave far more than he ever asked for, who made life easier for those around him, and who leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and hard work well done.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 1 at High Bridge Presbyterian Church in Natural Bridge.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to ConnectionsPlus Healthcare+Hospice and/or honor Darold’s memory by lending a hand to someone in need, just as he so often did.
The family will forever be grateful for the dedication of Hospice.
