POO MINES
Poo Mines
Bryan “Poo” Dod Mines, an extraordinary wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Oct. 24. She was 67.
Poo was preceded in death by her parents, Rader and Eleanor Dod. She is survived by her husband of 31 blessed years, Barry Mines; beloved daughter Harrison, and “son she never had,” Holden Branham, and granddaughter, her precious Primrose Eleanor Branham. Poo also leaves behind two best friends and her siblings, Jenni and Rader Dod, and many nieces and nephews she held close to her heart.
Born in Richmond in 1958, Poo was a 1976 graduate of Staunton’s Robert E.Lee High School. She went on to attend Old DominionUniversity and MaryBaldwin College before pursuing a career in the radiology department at Norfolk General Hospital. After relocating to Lexington, she became an invaluable volunteer at Lime Kiln Theater, where she met Barry. The rest, as they say, is history — and beautiful memories with friends and family.
After battling chronic illness for decades, Poo was an inspiration of resilience, bravery and faith to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her loved ones rejoice in knowing she is enjoying a new life without pain in Heaven.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory.
