Born May 25, 1947, he was the son of the late Hughey E. Johnson and Margaret Golda Smith Veney.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, Percy served two terms during the Vietnam War, including one tour of combat. He retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was a member of First Baptist Church.

He is survived by daughters, grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, siblings, and many relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Harrison Funeral Home.
