POLLY LAWRENCE
Polly was born March 23, 1928, in Charlottesville to Nannie Wilshire Jacobs and Cleveland Smith Glover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Marshall Lawrence Jr.; her sisters, Altha Davis, Mary Ellen Reynolds and Michelle Glover; and her brothers, Robert W. Glover, Alonza R. Glover and Cleveland W. Glover She attended school in Charlottesville, Mary Washington College and the Jefferson School of Commerce. She was also a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church. Polly owned Suzy’s House of Gifts and worked at A Corner of Lexington for many years. She loved flowers and was a member of the Town and Country Garden Club. She was also somewhat of a Hoos fan. Polly was quite the shopper and enjoyed showering family and friends with the treasures she would find.
Polly is survived by her two sons, Steven Marshall Lawrence and wife Susan, and William Robert Lawrence and wife Kass; her beloved grandchildren, Jacob, Mary Katherine, Margaret “Maggie,” Michael, Tucker, Parker and Megan; and two great-grandchildren, Colton and Brooklyn. Polly has many nieces and nephews who lovingly kept close contact with her – many visiting and writing her often. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
A service in celebration of Polly’s life will be held Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church.
