HERMAN DICKERSON

Herman was born on July 21, 1938, in Fairfield to Wade and Emma Dickerson. He lived a life marked by dedication to his family and community.
Following his graduation from Lylburn Downing High School, Herman went on to proudly serve his country as a member of the United States Army. After his military service, he returned home and built a meaningful career in the United States Postal Service. He was also a skilled and licensed barber.
Herman was known for his loving nature, generous spirit and kind heart. These qualities were most evident in the way he cared for those around him. He found great joy in his hobbies of gardening, bowling and tinkering with various projects around the house.
Herman was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Lois M. Dickerson, and sons-in-law, Rick Lackey and Steve Painter.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Stacey Dickerson- Suggs, Tracey Dickerson Lackey, Kendall Dickerson Painter and Kyana Dickerson Ruether (Wyatt); his grandchildren, Jacob Painter (Madison), Cameron Painter, Jared Suggs, Aidyn Clave, Airyn Clave and Allydia Reuther; his brother Charles, “Randy” Dickerson; his sister, Barbara Sheffield; friend and caregiver, Patricia Singh; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Herman was truly loved and will be missed by many.
To honor his wishes, there will be no memorial service.
