Born Sept. 28, 1945, she was a daughter of the late James Nathaniel Hunter and Helen Louise Thompson Hunter.

Also preceding her in death is her husband, John L. Jefferson Sr.

She was retired domestic support for Washington and Lee University fraternities.

Surviving are her children, Cecelia H. Turner and John L. Jefferson Jr.; one grandson; and siblings James Hunter and Gloria Brown.

A memorial service will be at a later date.
