BILL COLEMAN

BILL COLEMAN

William E. “Bill” Coleman Sr., 90, of Buena Vista passed away on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.  Bill was born on Dec. 17, 1934, and lived in Buena Vista his entire life.

Bill will be remembered by many for his kindness, quick wit and humor. He loved to share stories of growing up in Buena Vista with his family and friends. Bill was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and loved to sit on his front porch looking at the mountains.  He was involved in a weekly gospel and bluegrass singing group where he had many friends who shared his love of music and singing.  Bill was a hard worker and retired from Hermetite-Mundet after more than 35 years of service.

Bill was a faithful member of Calvary Brethren Church where he loved his Lord and church family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, William E. “Buddy” Coleman Jr.; his daughter, Donna Kayton; and his grandchildren, Stuart Kayton and Rachel Kayton.  He is also survived by his brothers, Tate Coleman and Ronald Coleman, many nieces and nephews, and special friend, Betty Bryant.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn Austin Coleman; parents, Everett and Irene Spence Coleman; and sisters, Marion Pittenger and Faye Camden.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel by the Rev. W. David Bain and Pastor Joel Ward. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to ConnectionsPlus Healthcare+Hospice in Lexington or Calvary Brethren Church in Buena Vista.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
