Born May 9, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Harry Mc-Clung Mohler and Nellie Olevia Wade Mohler.

Betty graduated from Asbury College in Kentucky. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and was a retired teacher with 35 years of service in the Rockbridge County Public Schools where she touched the lives of many kids. Her hobbies included being involved with activities in her church, art club, garden club and the community.

Surviving are her spouse of 59 years, Reid K. Swisher Jr.; son, Ben Swisher; grandchildren, Kirk, Madeline and Stuart; mother of the grandchildren, Margaret Swisher; sister, Joyce Little (J.W.); brother-in-law, Keith Swisher (Cathy); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to ConnectionsPlus Hospice (315 Myers St., Lexington, VA 24450) or Alone Cemetery Fund (970 Bethany Road, Lexington, VA 24450).

Acelebration of life will be at a later date.
