MARY LEECH

Mary Mackey Williams Leech, 95, of Lexington, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Dewitt Talmage Williams and Inez Mackey Williams.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bolivar Leech III; her brother, Charles Williams; and her sister, Harriet Fix.

Mrs. Leech was born on April 19, 1930, and raised in the Timber Ridge area of RockbridgeCounty. She attended Fairfield High School and Dunsmore Business College. Following graduation, she worked in the Rockbridge County Courthouse and for Columbia Gas before she and her husband began farming. Together, they raised beef cattle and eventually formed Ingleside Dairy Farm, Inc.

She was a lifelong member of Oxford Presbyterian Church, where she faithfully sang in the choir.

Mrs. Leech is survived by her three children, Charles Bolivar Leech IV and wife Linda; Margaret Leech Showalter; and Sarah Leech Dudley and husband Otho. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Beau Leech and wife Sarah, Jennifer Leech, Travis Showalter and wife Haley, and Mary Nicely and husband Matthew, as well as her great-grandchild, Cady Beth Leech.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, at Oxford Presbyterian Church.
