THURMAN FARROW

Thurman Franklin Farrow, 92, of Lexington went to be in the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025. 

Born Dec. 18, 1932, he was a son of Ernest Frank Farrow and Katie Hatcher Farrow Moore.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Tyler Swisher, and niece Elizabeth Painter.

Thurman was a Corporal, Armor in the Armed Forces of the United States from 1953 to 1961. While there he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Korean Service Medal.  He then worked at James Lee Industries for over 44 years. He loved to farm, work his cattle, gardening, fishing and hunting.  His passion was music especially his fiddle. He took pride in sharing his music and testimony about his Lord and Savior with the nursing home residents, church and many others. Thurman was always there to give a helping hand when needed.

Surviving are his wife, Jane Farrow; daughters, Darlene Higgins (John) and Sherry Simpkins (Brian); grandchildren, Eric Higgins (Cathy), Brian Higgins (Shannon) and Brooke Gardner; and siblings Junior Painter (Linda) and Margie Moran (Bo).

All services will be private.
