Elsie Smith, 92, of Lexington died Friday, Aug. 8, 2025. 

Born Oct. 25, 1932, a daughter of Otho Cash and Drucilla Falls Cash.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Smith; brothers Otis Cash and Harry Cash; and sisters Stella Bayne, Della Fix and Beulah Ramsey.

Elsie started her career with Virginia Military Institute laundry department when she was 15 years old, retiring with 50 years of service.  She was also a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.

Surviving is her daughter, Janet Willis.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Clifford Hall.
