He was born March 13, 1945, in Rockbridge County the son of Howard Thomas McGee and Florence Virginia VanNess McGee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles C. McGee.

Brownie was a machinist at NAPA where he was known as the doctor of the machine shop to his NAPA family.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Stinnett McGee; children, Merrill Brown McGee Jr. (Beverly), Nina McGee, Shelly Martin, Todd Stinnett (Brooke) and Elonda Clark; grandchildren, Emma Stinnett and Ryan Clark; brothers, Bruce McGee (Cindy) and Leonard Ray McGee (Johnny); sisters, Susan M. Ward (Butch) and Beth M. Hartbarger (Claude); friends, Wayne Patrick (Shirley), Gayle Patrick (Jane), and Janet Dalton; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Stone Church of the Brethren by Pastor Galen Combs.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
