MARY MARTHA McCLUER

Mary Martha McCluer, a former resident of Lexington who for many years has lived in Florida, passed away April 13, 2025.

She was born Sept. 30, 1941, the daughter of Lexington dentist, Dr. William Alexander Mc-Cluer and his wife Mary Raper Borthwick McCluer. She was the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John William McCluer and the Rev. and Mrs. Henry Richard Borthwick, all of Fairfield.

She grew up in the house her father designed and built at 214 Overhill Drive in Lexington. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1959 and attended the University of Miami. In 1962 she married in a ceremony at her home and lived briefly in Alabama before moving to Florida. She worked at Florida State University in Tallahassee until her retirement in 2001.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Evander Pollock, Katherine Thorn Lisenby and Mary Martha Parisher; and six grandchildren.

Mary Martha will be interred in a private memorial service later this year in the Fairfield Cemetery.
