BUDDY AUSTIN Buddy Earnest Austin, 74, of Buena Vista passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025. He was born Jan. 28, 1951, in Lexington, the son of Henry Austin and Violet Wilcher Austin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Austin. Buddy served his country in the U.S. Navy. He then worked as a correctional officer for 30 years and after retiring did many odd jobs and spent time with his family. Surviving are his wife, Helen Austin; three brothers, Danny Austin, Tommy Austin and Kevin Smith; two sisters, Fay Walker and Melissa Smith; and special dog, Blake. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens by Pastor Terry Bostic. Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
