She was born Aug. 3, 1940, in Rockingham County, a daughter of James Albert Higgins and Ruby Mae Hostetter Higgins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Thomas Moore Sr.; a son, Nathaniel Moore II; a brother, Eugene Higgins; and a sister, Pauline Higgins.
She was a member of the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church. She loved God, family, friends and she loved to sing.
Mrs. Moore is survived by a special friend, Buck Kerr; two daughters, Yvonne Abigail Lawhorne and partner Jeff of North Carolina, and Sandra Lou “Tater” Camden and husband Kenny of Lexington; a son, Stanley Todd Moore and wife Peggy of Natural Bridge; one brother, Larry Higgins of Lexington; two sisters, Nadine Higgins and Rosie Hostetter, both of Lexington; eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren.
The funeral was conducted Monday, June 30, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. George Warden Jr. Burial followed at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements were by Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory. NG
