Vivian Davis Hite, 84, of Buena Vista, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025.

Born Sept. 10, 1940, in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late Emory Davis and Vivian Coffey Davis.

She was also preceded in death by sisters, Beulah Davis, Erma Ruble, Ida Harris and Ellen Staton; and brother, Vernon Davis.

During her work career, Vivian was employed by Reeves Brothers in Buena Vista for many years and also Aramark Catering at VMI for many years as well.  She was a Christian woman and attended Victory BaptistChurch in Buena Vista.  Vivian will be remembered for being a kind, gentle, loving and unselfish person who always placed others’ needs above her own.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

 Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Winston Hite Sr.; three sons, Winston Hite Jr., David Hite (Lorri) and Patrick Hite; three grandchildren, Derrick Hite, Jared Hite and Brittany Carter; five great-grandchildren, Axel Hite, Aspen Hite, Preston Carter, Paxton Carter and Paisleigh Mitchen; and brother, Jake Davis.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Dean Staton. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. 

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
