Ruby Lorene Glenn Deacon Rohr passed from this life on June 27, 2025. Born March 26, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Herman L. and Cottie H. Glenn.

She was also preceded in death by her husbands Luster L. Deacon and Preston H. Rohr; stepdaughter and son-in-law Arthelia D. and Norman L. Malone; stepson and daughter-in-law Gene L. and Brooke H. Deacon; daughter Martha D. Detroia; son Michael E. Deacon; stepson Joseph Rohr; step-grandsons Troy Malone and Joshua Knight; step-great-granddaughter Dana Malone; daughters-in-laws Teresa S. Deacon and Sara Jane Deacon; and sisters Adele Manspile and Pauline Dudley.

She is survived by her five children, L. Glenn Deacon, Lorene D. Moss, W. Lewis Deacon, Scott A. Deacon and David A. Deacon. She is also survived by two step-children, John H. Rohr (Ann) and Mary Elizabeth Knight (Russell); daughter-in-law Carolyn H. Deacon; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Delbert L. Glenn; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

She was a graduate of Effinger High School. Except for a brief time as a teacher’s aide, her chosen profession through life was to be a loving wife, mother and babysitter for numerous children. She enjoyed family get-togethers, gardening, reading, puzzles (especially Sudoku) and church. She was an active member of Fishersville United Methodist Church.

A funeral will be held at Harrison Funeral Home on Thursday, July 3, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Peter Choi officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Fishersville United Methodist Church.
