With heavy hearts and deep love it saddens us to announce our beloved Doris Jane Chatterton, 78, of Buena Vista went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 23, 2025.

Doris was born in Rochester, N.Y., on July 12, 1946. She was preceded in death by her father, LaVern Francis Chatterton; mother, Grace Bell Riley Jenkins; and brother, Charles Joseph Chatterton Sr. 

She is survived by her sister, Marie Chatterton Wilson; children, Mark Floyd (Juanita), Lisa Lavender (late husband Danny), Sheila Owens (Jamie) and Britney Campbell (Shaun); grandchildren, Derek Floyd (Summer), Jimmy Huffman, Crystal Lipscomb (Darrell), Cheyenne Owens (Brandon) and Jeffrey Ryan Groah Jr.; great-grandchildren, Trinity (Ben), Kierstyn, Angel, Ethan, Drake, Bruce, Darrell Jr Felicity, Kaira, Brennan, Willow and Brentley; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins she held dear to her heart; and her beloved kitty, Shadow.

Doris was the matriarch of the family. She had a heart of gold and would go above and beyond for those she loved. Her hard work, knowledge, strength and abundance of love will continue to carry on throughout the family for generations to come. We will continue to feel her absence but we will cherish the memories made in our hearts for forever. 

Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday, July 1, at 2 p.m. at Bolling Grose and Lotts by Pastor Adam Williams.
