Mrs. Groah was born in Middlebrook on March 30, 1946, a daughter of John William Losh and Eula Mae (Lockridge) Losh.
Helen was self-employed at Blue Ridge Guns and Ammo, a business she proudly ran with her husband. She was deeply rooted in her Christian faith and found joy and strength in reading her Bible. Known by many as a kind-hearted and generous woman, Helen especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness.
In addition to her parents and her husband of 59 years, Mrs. Groah was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Losh; and two sisters, Lois Elain Garrison and Judith Grey Whitlock.
Surviving, are two sons, Allen H. Groah Jr. and his wife, Cheryl and Duane M. Groah both of Fairfield; a brother, Bobby Losh and his wife, Janice of Maryland; a sister, Doris Lee Moran of Greenville; three grandchildren, Timothy, Cassie, and Dalton Groah; four great-grandchildren, Silas, Layne, Rae and Riley; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 25, in Oaklawn Memory Gardens in Staunton by Pastor Rader Ogden.
It is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to Augusta Health Foundation, c/o Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, Virginia 22939.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
