Born May 23, 1945, he was the son of the late Paul Alvin Royer and Glenice Drumheller Royer.

Jimmy was a simple, kind, and loving man that loved spending time with his family. He retired from Bonded Fibers in Buena Vista after many years of dedication. After retirement he treasured having the time to keep his grandchildren, do his woodworking, planting his garden, and watching it grow in his backyard.

Surviving is his loving wife of 61 years, Cynthia Hope Scott Royer; two sons, David Todd Royer and wife Leslie, and Michael Wayne Royer and wife Marvel; one sister, Joanna Royer Meade; three grandchildren, Taylor Madison Royer, Tyler Michael Royer and Ella Gray Royer; two great-grandchildren, Layton Braxx Irvine and Walker Lee Hostetter; several nieces and nephews; and Tammy Wright Royer, who was very special to him.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, June 3, at Green Hill Cemetery with Tommy Johnson officiating.

The family would like to thank Connections Plus Hospice for the care and kindness that was given to them during this time of need.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Connections Plus Hospice, 315 Meyers St., Lexington, VA 24450 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
