BRENDA "SISSY" LEWIS
Brenda “Sissy” Clark Lewis of Buena Vista passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, at the age of 66, in Lexington.
Born Oct. 12, 1958, Sissy dedicated 47 years of her life working at White’s Truck Stop, showing an unwavering commitment until her passing.
Sissy graduated from Parry McCluerHigh School and was known for her kindness and her aspiration to make a positive impact on the world. She never spoke ill of anyone and was often seen as someone trying to save the world, one act of kindness at a time. An avid softball player, Sissy cherished the outdoors and the joy of sports. Her love for the beach and traveling was paralleled only by her love for hosting cookouts and spending quality time with friends and family. These gatherings were often highlighted by her warmth and the inclusive atmosphere she naturally created.
Sissy was a beloved family member and friend. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Charles “Chuckie” Lewis; daughter Whitney Lewis White and son-in-law Keith White; special niece Chastity Berkstresser and her husband Cory Berkstresser. She was an adored GiGi to Cole and Cadrian Berkstresser, Adley White, Kynslee, and Kynadee Clark. Her life was also enriched by her special friends Yvonne Shifflett and Kay Watts.
Her passing was preceded by her parents Bobby and Shirley Clark; brother Butchie Clark; in-laws Charles and Catherine Lewis; sister-in-law Ella Mae Camden; and siblings-in-law Cynthia Lewis and Stephen Lewis. Her best friend Barbara Keyes also preceded her in death.
Sissy’s life was a testament to her generous spirit and her enduring love for her family and friends. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Home.
