Joey was a sawmill operator working at various mills. He was an avid bear hunter and enjoyed watching many sports, especially the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, and NASCAR drivers such as Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott.

He is survived by his daughter, Melody King; son, Joey King; grandchildren, Bryar King and Ella Cass; sisters, Brenda Dudley, Debbie Painter and Patty Higgins; brothers, Tommy, Mike and Marty King; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. with memorial services at 7 p.m., Friday, May 30, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Pastor Zack Tabor officiating.
