Born March 3, 1950, he was a son of Calvin Earl McDaniel and Thelma Katheen McDaniel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy McDaniel, and former wife, Candace Wilkerson Mc-Daniel.

Ronald was a multi-sport athlete and graduate of Natural Bridge High School. He was also a longtime employee of Blue Bird Industry. His pastimes included trout fishing on Jennings Creek and fishing on the Maury and James rivers. Ronald was a true fan of sports; he loved UVa, the Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Phillies and recreational softball.

Surviving are his son, David McDaniel (Kasey) of Glasgow; grandchildren Taylor, Avery and Brennan; great-granddaughter Addison; brother Calvin “Gene” McDaniel (Vickey) of Glasgow; nephews Chad and Robbie; niece Ginger Raffeinner (Aaron); great-niece Quinn; and several other cousins and family members.

A visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 30, at Harrison Funeral Chapel.
