JUDY WATTS
JUDY WATTS
Born Dec. 17, 1943, in Lexington, Judy was a proud graduate of Parry McCluer High School in Buena Vista. She continued her education at Madison College in Harrisonburg, where she laid the foundation for a life of dedication and service. Her professional journey led her to serve as clerk of the Buena Vista School Board, a role through which she contributed meaningfully to her community.
Judy shared 57 loving years of marriage with her husband, Mac Watts. Together they built a family rooted in love and support. She is also remembered by her son Chris Watts and granddaughter Memphis Watts. Her devotion to family extended beyond her immediate household; she held close bonds with many relatives who brought joy and companionship throughout her life.
She is lovingly remembered by her brother, Bill “Sonny” Pryor; brother-in-law Frankie Hogan; sister-in-law Gerri Pryor; brothers-in-law Brian (Mary) Watts and Joe (Gill) Watts; sisterin- law Kay Watts; and numerous special nieces and nephews whose lives were touched by her warmth.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Theo and Ethel Pryor; her in-laws, Ralph and Emma Watts; her sister, Patsy Hogan; brother Jim Pryor; sisterin- law Pat Pryor; and brother-inlaw Paul Watts.
A woman of quiet joys and gentle passions, Judy found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep love for animals and could often be found feeding wild creatures that visited her backyard. Reading brought her comfort and inspiration, while adult coloring books offered a creative outlet that she cherished.
Her faith was an important part of her life, nurtured through worship at Buena Vista Presbyterian Church. In recent times, the compassionate care provided by the staff at Summit Square brought comfort to both Judy and her family. Their kindness will always be remembered with gratitude.
A celebration of life was held Monday, April 14, at the home of Kay Watts in Buena Vista. Pastor Butch Grow officiated the service as friends and family gathered to honor Judith’s memory.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be sent to Summit Square Fellowship Fund at 501 Oak Ave., Waynesboro, VA 22980.
May Judy’s legacy live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Arrangements were handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services. NG
