HAZEL TURNER
HAZEL TURNER
She was raised in Lexington, and at an early age accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at First Baptist Church in Lexington.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Lee Turner; her parents, William and Hazel Green; and her brother, Prentiss Green.
She is survived by her daughters, Angela Turner and Letitia Turner; brother, William Green; sisters-in-law, Eloise Moore (Earl) and Delores Turner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Hazel graduated from Lylburn Downing High School. She spent her career working at Burlington Industries (Mohawk) for over 30 years, a dedicated employee with a strong work ethic, practically never missing a day of work. Never meeting a stranger, she enjoyed making people laugh and finding ways to entertain them with jokes or stories.
Hazel loved to read. She never went anywhere without a book in her purse. One of her favorite places was the Glasgow Library. If she had to wait anywhere, she would pull out her book. She also enjoyed visiting and talking with her friends. Another of her favorite things was watching her “shows” … mainly “Perry Mason,” “Columbo” and “Matlock” reruns.
Hazel would help her friends and family whenever she could. Before one of her dear friends passed away, she visited her multiple times a day, helping with her care, which most times was just providing company.
Hazel leaves those who knew and loved her with many fond memories to cherish. She brought smiles and laughter to everyone. The joy she gave to her family will forever be in their hearts.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8,,at Harrison Funeral Home in Lexington. No funeral service is planned.
Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory.
