John Henry Smith, 85, of Buena Vista, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025. 

He was born May 1, 1939, in Lexington, the son of the late John A. and Evelyn Smith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Mae Worth Smith; his daughter, Cynthia Gail Hamlett; and his brother, Harry Smith. 

Surviving are his two grandchildren, Brandon Wright and Jamie Wright. 

Family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home.
