Born Jan. 30, 1966, he was a son of the late Charles J. Staton and Gladys Higgins Staton.

Surviving are his wife, Loretta Lynn Emore Staton; his son, Shane Staton; daughter, Cierra Staton; and many brothers and sisters.

A funeral was conducted Monday, Dec. 23, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. George Warden Jr.

Burial followed at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
