KENNY WRIGHT JR.

The first of three children to Wayne and Patricia Wright, Kenny was born Sept. 14, 1961, in Lynchburg.
He was predeceased by his sister Suzette Wright Quel, brother-in-law Rob Quel, and sister-in-law Alicia Shutte Wright.
He is survived by Sherry Figgers Wright, his wife of 35 years; two sons, McCagy Wright (fiancé Ellie Gilmore) of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Jackson Wright of Kernersville, N.C.; a brother, Neal Wright of Lynchburg; numerous nieces and nephews, and many special relatives and friends.
Kenny was an athlete, coach, teacher, businessman, a loyal son, brother, husband, father and friend. He dedicated his life to his wife and children and devoted his time to family, friends and students. He was an active member and former deacon at Buena Vista Baptist Church.
Kenny was a graduate of E.C. Glass High School and graduated from James Madison University where he played college football. He was a business teacher and coach at Parry McCluer High School, working with student athletes to build skills and strength. In his months off from teaching, Kenny owned and operated a successful small business. Kenny was strong and industrious all his days and above all enjoyed helping others.
The family invites friends for a visitation at Buena Vista Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 10 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., the Rev. Bryon Lepere and the Rev. Scott Covington officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Fort Hill Memorial Cemetery in Lynchburg.
The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made for academic scholarship to Parry McCluer High School, 100 Bradford Road, Buena Vista, VA 24416. Please identify any donations in memory of Kenny Wright.

MARJORIE HOSTETTER Marjorie Ellen Hostetter, 80, of Lexington, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024.
Born June 8, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Laura Wilhelm Hostetter and James Mason Hostetter.
She was a member of the Bible Church of Rockbridge.
Surviving are her sister, Marie H. Wade, and brother, Steve Hostetter.
A funeral was conducted Monday, Nov. 25, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. George Warden. Burial followed at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
