Would Jesus Vote For Trump?

May 22, 2023 Editor, The News-Gazette: Hot off the presses! A new chapter has been added to the international best seller, “The Adventures of Neanderthanald Donald.” This chapter is titled “The Rake’s Progress” aka “The Rape’s Progress,” depending on your viewpoint.

“The Rake’s Progress” tells a tale of a charlatan who falls in with a mysterious character under whom he commits several heinous acts. The mystery man turns out to be the Devil incarnate. Our charlatan, The Donald, is able to free himself from any guilt or responsibility for his actions by saying, “The Devil made me do it.”

In “The Rape’s Progress”, our heroine, E. Jean Carroll tries to hold The Donald accountable for raping her in a department store dressing room. She has the DNA to prove it. Unfortunately the criminal statute of limitations has run out. So she sues him in civil court for defaming her character. Two other women testify against The Donald for his sexual attacks on them. The heroine wins her case, leaving The Donald fuming and lying to whomever will listen.

No one should be at all surprised at this behavior from a man whose whole history of women has been to sexually exploit them. Even before his election, he announced to the world on that “Access Hollywood” tape: “And when you’re a star, you can do anything. Grab ‘em by the … You can do anything.”

The sad thing is, that in spite of this statement, plenty of women were happy to vote for this hideousness, degrading themselves, by giving a man like this their stamp of approval. And sending the message to other men that this is appropriate behavior towards women. The men must already agree with that behavior because they voted for him in droves.

For shame, and so many such good “Christians.” Do they really think Jesus would approve of (much less vote for) a man who degrades and sexually attacks women? Not on your life.

The real tragedy here is that so many will excuse him and even vote for him again. Let’s hope we are not so dense as to reelect such perversity, sending to our daughters the message that this is the way men should treat them by sending a sexual predator to the highest office in the land.
