Tucker is exhibiting a group of pictures created in a venerable style that goes back to Germany in the 16th century known as “Scherenschnitte” – or paper cutting. Her collection is an exceptionally artistic group of images cut from a 1930s book of children’s songs, as well as others cut from the music sheets from classical hymn books. She calls this technique “Capriccios” ‒ or “whimsical compositions.

Nixon, the other artist at Nelson, is a traditional landscape painter, displaying scenes of flowers, landscapes and local historic places like Natural Bridge – all painted with a strong sense of color and composition. She is currently a student at Southern Virginia University – studying both art and psychology.
