SVU Hires Two Head Coaches

Southern Virginia University hired two new coaches last week, naming Trace Bevell as its men’s basketball coach last Tuesday before tappbing Olivia Cope as its women’s lacrosse coach last Wednesday.

Bevell replaces Adam Wardenburg, who was SVU’s head men’s basketball coach for the past five years. Bevell comes here from Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah, where he had been the head boys basketball coach for the past decade.

Cope replaces Rainey Whitworth, who was the coach of the Knights for the past five years. Cope’s most recent position was as head varsity coach at Bountiful High School in Utah.
