No Rain On This Parade

The South River District Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department’s 69th carnival took place last week. The annual parade was held Friday on the main drag in Fairfield. Antique vehicles were a plenty in the parade, including the car that was once driven by Thomas Bare (top left), the patriarch of a family of famous local race car drivers, and (top right) a classic 1965 Ford Mustang. BELOW LEFT, a young parade spectator collects candy in the median strip. BELOW MIDDLE, there were many tractors in the parade, including this John Deere model. BELOW RIGHT, two girls smile as they coast down the route in a go-kart. (Joann Ware photos)
