The event that many local residents have been eagerly anticipating has happened – Rockbridge’s Chick-fil-A is open at 25 Hotel Drive, just off North Lee Highway! The restaurant officially opened last Thursday morning. Hours are from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday.

Guests of Chick-fil-A North Lee Highway can place an order for pickup, dine-in or delivery on the Chick-fil-A app or online. The new restaurant will also feature Mobile Thru, a fully dedicated lane in the drive-thru where guests can pick up orders placed on the Chick-fil-A app.

Stephen Bruner is the local owner-operator of Chickfil- A North Lee Highway. Bruner, is a U.S. Army veteran living in Lexington with his family, and currently serves as an Army Reserves ROTC instructor at VMI Prior to joining Chickfil- A, he served in the Army as an infantry officer in a variety of leadership roles from 2010 to 2020.

Seeking a change that would allow for more stability and time with his wife and three children, Bruner connected with Alex Vann, a Chick-fil-A owner-operator in Georgia, who encouraged him to pursue a career with Chick-fil-A and brought Bruner on as the general manager of his restaurant. Over the years, Vann became a friend, life mentor and role model to Bruner.

Understanding the importance of building lasting relationships, the two hosted Chick-fil-A Family Nights every week, where directors and team members could bring their family and friends together to share a meal, creating a family-like bond among their team. As the local owner-operator of Chick-fil-A North Lee Highway, Bruner plans to continue this tradition. His wife, Bryana, will work alongside him as the HR director.

In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Lexington area to aid in the fight against hunger.

In addition, Chick-fil-A North Lee Highway is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Lexington area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.

Bruner’s restaurant plans to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 23 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from nearly 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Chick-fil-A operators are committed to hiring, developing and retaining top talent and providing a positive work environment for people of all ages and backgrounds. Team members have opportunities for flexible work hours and leadership growth, competitive pay and benefits, hands-on training and mentoring and the chance to apply for scholarships to support their continuing education.

Chick-fil-A is known for serving customers greattasting food made with high-quality ingredients, including the original Chickfil- A Chicken Sandwich. Made with a real, whole, boneless breast of chicken with no added fillers, the breaded chicken is pressure cooked in fully-refined peanut oil. Chick-fil-A was one of the first in the industry to eliminate chicken raised with antibiotics to ensure guests have an option for high-quality food on the go.

To complement the greattasting chicken, fresh produce is delivered to Chick-fil-A restaurants up to six times a week for the best quality and flavor. The fresh ingredients are raised and grown by farmers who share the company’s elevated quality and safety standards, so guests feel good about their meal.
