Farnham To Discuss ‘West Heads Home’

Local author Peter Farnham will talk about his new book, “West Heads Home,” on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Rockbridge Regional Library in Lexington Farnham will discuss issues based on themes in the book, such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and survivor’s guilt. He’ll take questions and do book signings.

He’ll take questions and do book signings.

Farnham, a Vietnam combat veteran, received his bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Iowa. He worked for more than 30 years as an advocate for federal science funding, especially in the area of biomedical research. He retired in 2010, and now spends his time traveling, writing, singing, playing guitar, and acting in local theater productions.

His fictional story tells a tale about Arthur “Preach” West, who returns to the U.S. in 1969 after service in Vietnam, and his enlightening homeward trip cross-country from San Francisco to home in Belfast, Maine.
