County Seeks Input On Branding

Aug. 8, 2023

Rockbridge County has launched a new public input survey and is asking for participation from residents, businesses and members of nearby communities to give their feedback on the county’s new branding project.

The 10-minute survey can be accessed at brandingrockbridge.com and will remain open for responses until the last day of August.

“Our goal with this project is to create an exciting, authentic narrative for the county that will help us reach our goals for tourism and economic development. For this to be successful, we’re looking for participation from the local community to share what they think about our county,” said Brandy Flint, Rockbridge County Director of Economic Development.

Rockbridge recently hired communications and marketing agency HAVEN Creative to lead the branding initiative. HAVEN has 10 years of community branding experience for towns, counties and community development projects. The agency was chosen after thorough review in a public request for proposal process.

The project, which kicked off in late July, will help Rockbridge position itself in the region as a destination for tourism and economic opportunities. The initial brand identity development will take six months and starts with an extensive discovery process, led by HAVEN Creative.

As part of this discovery process, HAVEN has met with local leaders in person, toured parts of the county and launched a series of surveys. This public survey was developed using the initial survey results and feedback from initial conversations, including conversations with County staff and elected officials, Chamber members, and public safety officials.
