At the Lexington Farmers Market on Wednesday, June 28, Michelle Wells of Hearthstone Farm in Fairfield interacts with students from the Virginia Governor’s World Language Academies at Washington and Lee University. The Virginia high school students are taking part in a three-week full-language immersion program in which they are allowed to speak only one of three languages – Spanish, French or German. The Balloons Over Rockbridge festival brought out a large crowd to the Virginia Horse Center Saturday and Sunday to not only see the hot-air balloons but to enjoy music and games and check out the various vendors.
