The Maury River seventh and eighth grade band performed at the 2025 Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association concert assessment event on Thursday, March 6. The four adjudicators hired for the event determined that the band demonstrated qualities of a Superior performing ensemble, the highest marks possible at the event. This has only occurred a few times in the past 20-plus years for Maury River. The band is directed by Matt Schucker
