Feb. 5, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: Regarding Wawa coming to Rockbridge County, wow, I can hardly wait. I hate seeing our beautiful historic area ruined by the addition of cheap-looking hotels, fast-food joints, and unneeded gas stations.
Why not build an indoor sports complex for children and families which is something really needed by our residents? I often see comments on our local media websites where parents comment on the lack of facilities for children’s entertainment, especially during the winter months.
Are our residents aware of the plans to redesign Courthouse Square on Main Street? The proposed project is estimated to cost $1 million. Talk about a waste of money. Put those million dollars into a project that all Rockbridge residents can benefit from, especially our children. GLADYS HOPKINS Lexington
