The Collierstown Presbyterian Church’s “Souper Bowl of Caring” food drive was held on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Despite the rain, the generosity of the Collierstown community resulted in the giving of much needed food and supplies to Helping Hands, a food ministry of Fairfield Presbyterian Church. Many thanks to community residents and the church’s membership for the many donations of canned food and paper products as well as monetary gifts given.
On Sunday, Feb. 9, the congregation met in the fellowship hall for worship led by Burr Datz, followed by a soup, salad and dessert luncheon. Food drive donations were loaded and taken to the Fairfield Presbyterian Church following the meal. Monetary gifts are still being accepted and can be mailed to Collierstown Presbyterian Church, 31 Church Drive, Lexington, VA 24450 and designated for the “Pack the Porch” food drive.
The Collierstown Presbyterian Church’s C&F Circle will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 1 p.m. in the church’s fellowship hall. All women of the church and community are invited to attend.
