Feb. 2, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: Well that didn’t take long. On Saturday the president announced he would levy tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China. Those three happen to be our largest trading partners so the convicted felon decided it was better to put a sales tax on the entire country than actually work with our trading partners and give the citizens of this country lower prices across the board as promised.
