This past Sunday, High Bridge Presbyterian Church welcomed two guest speakers from the Comfort Care for Women, a nonprofit medical clinic. Comfort Care is one of the church’s mission projects for the second year.
Joey and Dawn Manspile announced the birth of their grandson, born Jan. 19, named Joseph (Cooper) Manspile. Proud parents are Caleb and Julianna Manspile.
The evening circle plans to meet Feb. 4 with Garnette Teas at 6 p.m.
The Presbyterian Women annual meeting was held after morning worship service this past Sunday. Officer reports were given and new officers installed were Faye Worley as Moderator, Betsey Shepard, mission coordinator, and member-at-large is Garnette Teas, replacing Carol Tolley, Faye Worley and Courtney Thomas. A memorial program for the late Lorna Whisler and Audrey Armentrout was presented at the meeting by Gayle Tolley.
On Sunday, Feb. 2, the deacons will sponsor Souper Bowl Sunday after church service. The deacons will furnish soup for the luncheon and church members are asked to bring sides and desserts. Donations of canned soup for the Natural Bridge/Glasgow Food Pantry will be received during the church service. Guests are welcome.
The food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, and close at 11.
